Maternity Bat Colony
Best months for this experience: June-early September
The Historic Peachland School House has one of the largest known maternity colonies of Yuma and Little Brown bats in B.C – as many as 2,000 bats!
Bring your family and participate in an official BC Bat Count (some tours) at sunset.
Before dusk, we take a short Bat Interpretive Walk in downtown Peachland by beautiful Okanagan Lake. At dusk you will be awestruck as hundreds of bats emerge from the Schoolhouse on their nightly exit to feed on the abundance of insects. You can even listen to the bats echolocating with our bat detector.
An evening of fun and excitement for the whole family. A portion of the tour fee goes to support BEEPS.
We can pick you up from either Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland, Summerland, or the Penticton area (Oliver & Osoyoos customers please call the office).
2019 Tour dates are available. Please call 250-859-5982 to reserve.
