Maternity Bat Colony
Best months for this experience: June-early September
The Historic Peachland School House has one of the largest known maternity colonies of Yuma and Little Brown bats in B.C – as many as 2,000 bats!
Bring your family and participate in an official BC Bat Count (some tours) at sunset.
Before the count, we will take a short Bat Interpretive Walk in town. At dusk be awestruck as hundreds of bats emerge from the Schoolhouse on their nightly exit to feed on the abundance of insects. You can even listen to the bats echo locating with our own bat detector.
An evening of fun and excitement for the whole family. A portion of the tour fee goes to support BEEPS.
We can pick you up from either the Kelowna area or the Penticton area.
2018 Tour dates are available. Please call 250-859-5982 to reserve.
